"It's Been a While..."
There hasn't been anything too major going on here with the Heads, just the same old same old.We have decided to start looking in Kennesaw for a new house. The property value is quite good right now, and it's a logical move after a few years in Norcross. We like living here, but the area is starting to change, and not necessarily for the better. Kennesaw is a more established area, and the Cobb County school district is one of the best in Atlanta, or so we've heard. It's just time to move on.
We're going on vacation in a few weeks!!!! Jack is going to stay with Nana and Papa in Boone for a few days while we venture further into the great wide open to Mountain City, Tennessee. I found a wonderful B&B that we're going to stay in for three days, and it's only about 25 minutes away from Nana and Papa, so if anything happens we can be there in under a half hour. I decided that Ken's birthday was as good as any a reason to go away and spend some quality time alone together. We need it. Our marriage is still strong, but we lack certain intimacies lately with our work schedules conflicting, and being parents. We're tired, burned-out after long days working, and making love is the last thing on either of our minds. The prospect of climbing back into the bubble and talking and making love into the wee hours absolutely appeals to us both!
Jack has become the King of Vocabulary. He has added a whole new crop of words to his repetoire, and communicating has become so much easier lately. He's still the push-and-shove Alpha-male, but when he wants something, he's much more direct about it now. "Juice please" "bye bye, see ya later" "cool dude" "kitty comere" "puppy", all of these new little words help him to express himself in a much more cohesive way. We are thrilled that he's finally talking, and he can count to 10, and he can start to sing his ABC's, which is adorable because he does it in this squeaky little mousey voice. Our baby is long gone, having been replaced by this very independent, flirty, happy little boy.
I've been communicating with one of my closest friends from back in High School lately. Sean Pettway was one of my best friends, and we lost touch after high school, but the prospect of the reunion coming up jsut made me look him up and find him. While I won't be attending the 20th reunion of Grant High School, I am glad to be in touch with two of my closest friends from back in the day. Hamburg and Pettway seem to be as happy and lucky in love as I am, and they have thriving families and careers, always good to know.
Otherwise, things are good, no news is good news, and I'm just happy that things are going so smooth lately.
